Family Day
August 4th, 2008
Saturday was a hugely busy day with both my company picnic and a special zoo event we were invited to.
When Evie eas born my coworkers gifted us with an adoption program for a set of penguins. That included a zoo event where we could have dinner with the animals. But that awesomeness had to compete with pony rides and snow cones at the picnic.

The 1-Month Checkup
July 28th, 2008
Evie is 10 lbs, 14 oz — 22 inches tall, all of which puts her at the 90th percentile for both height and weight.
She’s also demonstrating that she’s ticklish, and she’s cooing for Suzy, Logan and me pretty regularly. Apparently she enjoys tummy time on my belly more than on her crib or on Suzy, so clearly she’s figured out who she can mess with.
In other family-related milestones, Logan biked 16 blocks yesterday, which is her longest ride yet. She’s riding fast enough where I’d have to run to keep up with her (I’d have to, but I don’t because I’m fat and lazy and she stops and waits). She’s doing very well at alleys and intersections both in waiting for me and in actively scanning for traffic (though I’m not convinced she really knows what she’s looking for). Still, she’s getting the good habits down.
Suzy and I also dropped the kids off at a babysitter on Saturday to see The Dark Knight, which is our first “date” in a good long while. We had sliders and a drink at Chili’s and then the movie, which was awesome.

Day 2: Everybody Make Some Noise
June 27th, 2008
Evie and I seem to be getting along just fine. I have a big fluffy tummy to lay against and keep warm. Kinda like an Emperor Penguin, if the Emperor Penguin ate a lot of Twerps, Nerds Rope and M&Ms.
Not only is Evie eating pretty regularly and assertively, she has cute little sneezes and coughs and then she gives me this confused look (seen above). As if to say, “What the hell was that?”
She also is capable of cute little burps, coughs, and lip smacking with her tongue all out like Shaq. Her peeing everytime I get a diaper off but before I can get another one down and her big poopies — still cute, but not nearly as cute as her noises and faces.
More pictures after the jump…
Say Hi to Evie!
June 26th, 2008
Evelyn Jeanette, or Evie, was born at 12:21 this afternoon. A very healthy 9 lbs, 10 oz and 21 inches tall… she has wavy brown hair and deep blue eyes. Mommy and baby are doing very well; Logan and I are extremely proud.
Mr. Chompers knows something is up, but won’t know for sure until they come home on Monday. With three days on our own, pretty much, Logan and I will have to come up with lots of things to do. I’m sure will see Wall-E on Saturday. Maybe we’ll have to do a trip to the beach or something even wilder.
